Allianza Against Crime
A grassroots-led event hosted in Gulfton that brings together residents, law enforcement, and community partners for open dialogue and empowerment. Held in memory of Commander Vidal Lopez, it’s a multilingual gathering focused on safety, resilience, and unity—especially in times of adversity.
March on Crime
A citywide initiative that raises awareness about crime prevention and safety through parades, outreach, and education. In Gulfton, the annual 1.2-mile march rallies neighbors, law enforcement, and civic leaders to encourage reporting crimes and strengthening public trust.
National Night Out
An annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. In Gulfton, it’s a time for residents to connect with local law enforcement, enjoy family-friendly activities, and stand united against crime.
