With board members and Houston police officers looking on, Gulfton Area Management District Chairwoman Tammy Rodriguez, center, presented a District check for $150,000 to HPD Assistant Chief Yasar Bashir and Commander Adrian Rodriguez on Thursday for overtime pay to add three or four more officers to evening shift patrols within District boundaries through Dec. 31.The District plans to continue the funding for 2023 and recently funded security patrols at Burnett-Bayland Park.
To increase commerce and well-being in the District, the chairwoman said, “public safety is our most important job.”
