With a $12,000 grant from the Gulfton Area Management District, Houston police officers with the differential response team based at the HPD Gulfton storefront office have picked out Christmas toys at area Walmarts for about 150 pre-selected, disadvantaged children as part of the HPD’s annual toy drive.
The kids will receive their toys Saturday (Dec. 10), with uniformed officers escorting each child to parts of the storefront where they will find gifts appropriate for their age groups.
