The Gulfton Area Management District’s annual March On Crime on Saturday (March 9, 2024) was hard to miss as residents, store employees and motorists witnessed a performance by the Houston Police Department lion dance team and the supportive presence of police supervisors, community activists, elected leaders and many more Houstonians.
The message from the 1.2-mile parade on Gulfton St. from Benavides Elementary School to Burnett Bayland Park included the importance of reporting crime — such as domestic violence and property thefts — to HPD and maintaining a dialogue between law enforcement and the people they serve.
